Description

Prevention and treatment of dehydration from diarrhea, vomiting, or due to vigorous exercise and sports activity.

Granules for Oral Solution (4.1 g per sachet)
per sachet: Sodium chloride (NaCl) 520 mg, potassium chloride (KCl) 300 mg, trisodium citrate dihydrate 580 mg and glucose (anhydrous) 2.7 g

Dosage

(Prevention of Dehydration)
Dilution: Dissolve powder contents of 1 sachet or 2 tablets for reconstitution in every glass (200 mL) of cool drinking water. Give as much fluid as the child or adult wants until diarrhea or vomiting stops, or as follows:

ADULTS & CHILDREN above 10 yrs old: Take as much fluid as possible
CHILDREN 2-10 yrs old: Give 100-200 mL solution.
Less than 2 yrs old: Give 50-100 mL solution.
All doses to be given after every watery stool.

(Treatment of Dehydration)
Mild to moderate fluid loss: Consult your doctor for proper advice on dosing and administration.


Precautions

Use cool drinking water for reconstitution. Shake or stir well before intake. Discard any unused solution 4 hours after reconstitution, or after 24 hours in case of refrigerated solution. Do not heat or boil solution. Use in severe dehydration only when IV fluid is not available. Caution use in phenylketonurics.


Side Effects

No expected undesirable effects if proper dilution, administration, and dosing are followed.


Contraindications

This product should not be given to patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to any of its components and those with glucose malabsorption.
